Here at Inverclyde Gin we are dedicated to championing everything local. Our tagline 'For Locals by Locals' isn't just a cute slogan we like to brandish around, it's our mission statement.
In light of this, we have teamed up with local artist Caitlin McLean to create our amazing Christmas theme for the festive season. Caitlin first came to our attention through social media, where our team discovered her fantastic artwork, which included depictions of local Inverclyde landmarks. We just knew we had to collab!
Caitlin said: "I picked up art as a hobby around two years ago, and through lots of experimentation, my work has vastly evolved since. Social media has become a fantastic way to interact with and learn from other artists as well as displaying my pieces. My favourite paintings are always of Scotland, especially Inverclyde, and I find that these are the pieces that people connect with the most."
The artist's love for Inverclyde and her home town is clearly evident as she expressed: "Working on this painting for Inverclyde Gin was really exciting for me. Though not without its challenges, it was a therapeutic piece to work through whilst missing home through Tier 4 lockdown - it became a bit of a love letter to my hometown of Gourock. I'm very grateful to Calvin and the team at Inverclyde Gin for such a fun opportunity, and for the artistic freedom I had to create the piece. I look forward to working with them again soon!"
The artwork will be printed onto limited edition festive postcards that will be included in our upcoming Christmas gift boxes and the original piece will be available to buy in the coming days.
