As we all know by now, the team here at Inverclyde Gin is dedicated to supporting the local community of Inverclyde and recognising the extraordinary people and work of beloved region. Therefore we've decided to take part in another local inverclyde business collaboration!
Back at Christmas 2020 we teamed up with the extremely talented local artist Caitlin McLean after discovering her page through social media, where her love for her local hometown of Inverclyde was depicted through her sensational artwork depictions of the areas well known landmarks. We were so amazed by Caitlin's work and received such amazing feedback from those who received theirs in our Limited edition gift boxes that we knew we had to work with Caitlin again on something special.
We wanted the next collaboration with Caitlin to convey the summers in Inverclyde, and to convey the coastline that Inverclyde is renowned for! With this in mind Caitlin has only went and done it again, blowing us away using a range of materials to create her spectacular masterpiece.
Caitlin said: "This was another really fun piece to work on with the Inverclyde Gin crew. The idea was to capture a classic Scottish beach in the summertime, and of course to include the iconic Inverclyde Gin bottle. I used a variety of mediums for this piece, including acrylic paint, oil pastel and charcoal. This gave me a bit of freedom to play with different textures and try to convey the ruggedness of the scene. I had recently visited the Highlands and the beautiful sand and rocks and Cuil Bay were a big inspiration here.I also loved how the colours of the mussel shells tied in with the Inverclyde Gin label. Overall, this project was another little piece of escapism for me during the ongoing lockdown!"
We know you all loved Caitlin's piece back in 2020 when they were included in our gift boxes, so we've decided to include the artwork will be printed onto limited edition postcards that will be included in our summer orders and the original piece will be available to buy in the coming days! Be sure to check out Caitlin's page for more of her phenomenal work!
